Lisa Ross showed us some ins and outs of the Breezy Weave Bags designed by Aunties Two Patterns.

The bags are made with basic techniques, unique design options and finish with gorgeous results.

Lisa gave us some critical tips to create a one of a kind creation that will have people asking: "Where did you buy that bag...I want one!"

We can smile with pride and say: "Thank you.... you cannot buy it; I made it myself."

Meet Peggy Forster

Peggy started quilting with Georgia Bonsteel's first show on WUNC. When everyone in her family had a bed quilt, she switched to wall art quilts.

Not willing to repeat the same process over and over, she looked for inspiration wherever it could be found. Her work is a mix of various methods and is constantly evolving.

Saturday Sampler

Held around the times of the Bernina Club. Our Saturday Sampler program begins every year in January.

Here are the rules for 2013!

  1. Limit of one kit per person.
  2. Come to one of the January meetings, pay $6 and pick up your block kit. Each month thereafter, your kit is free if you bring the previous month's completed block and sit through a complete demonstration session.
  3. If you miss the demo, you will need to pay $5 to receive the next month’s kit.
  4. If you prefer to pay instead of sitting through the demo, you can pick up your kit and give us $5 any time after the first session of that month.
  5. Remember: One free kit per person per session. Translation: You cannot pick up a free kit for yourself and a free kit for someone else. You will need to pay for one kit (if you pick up two - and, stay through the presentation). There is only one free kit per person per month.
  6. Saturday Sampler will be limited to the first 200 people who purchase the initial kit.

We look forward to working with you in 2013 and seeing your beautiful work. Thank you, for your participation!

We discussed creating the ultimate gift—the card, the gift, and the bag! How to create unique gifts made in the hoop, how to embroider on paper creating one of a kind greeting cards, plus how to make quick and easy gift bags. We started to get ready for the holidays—and beyond.

Embroidery Club participants embroidered cards. The "joy" card is a design from OESD's Design pack, Essential Sentiments. The "balloon" card feature's a design from, Creative Greetings.

Both design packs are available for purchase in our store.

Additional samples were provided. Smith Street Designs offers card design files (Thinking of You). Imagine the possibilities was printed on card stock using the Bernina embroidery software.

Thank you For Your Joining Us at the Bernina World of Sewing and Floriani
Quilting and Embroidery Masters Tour
May, 2013

It was a fun/informative day.
We look forward to seeing you soon, again, at the store.
It is always a pleasure!
Novice, intermediate, or master, whatever your level ... Marilyn York a Floriani National Educator, discussed how to combine threads and fabrics in a new and exciting way!

The signup fee included a gift of stabilizers, threads, embroidery designs and more - valued at $599!

  • We learned how our thread can "dance" on our quilts when using Floriani's My Decorative Quilter. This amazing quilting software simulates the look of hand heirloom, echo, stipple stitches and more.
  • We also learned how to transform any quilt into an artistic embroidery masterpiece that is our own!
  • We saw Floriani's new quilt batting - and discussed how to make our quilting as easy and beautiful as our Floriani embroidery! Perfect embroidery ... perfect quilts!

1.5 min. Movie of The Day
  • We saw Floriani Software's Save2Sew tools correct an embroidery design to sew exquisitely on ANY fabric BEFORE we touch the start button.
  • We learned the importance of proper stabilization on any type of fabric using Floriani's suggested products based on your design and fabric you intend to embroider. NO MORE PUCKERS!
  • We learned, as well, the inherit difference in embroidery designs that is the signature of a master digitizer.

In 2011, we had two full-year "Gatherings".

Each of the Gathering's quilts were selected with two objectives firmly in mind:
1) Beautiful pieces and
2) Quilts that you might view as "once in a lifetime" happenings; Not necessarily quilts you would make on a regular basis.
