Next in the series of project classes from the book Create with Cork Fabric by Jessica Kapitanski (AKA Sallie Tomato) is the simple yet versatile Shopping Tote. In this class you will learn how to make pattern adjustments for an all-cork tote, install rivets, and explore different ways to customize your tote bag for added functionality.

Create a fabulous coiled basket made of clothesline rope that has been corded with fabric strips. Use scraps or a graduated roll of strips. Batiks work especially well since they are tightly woven and don't fray easily. Baskets can be of any size or shape, and you can even produce coasters or hot mats from the leftover pieces of rope.

Bring your Stripology Ruler, the book ?Stripology? by Gudrun Erla, and your lunch, and join Amy O?Donnell for a fun class to make use of these rulers that improve cutting accuracy and save time. For the April meeting, we will use the pattern ?I-Strip?. This pattern, like the others in the book, allows you to choose from two different table toppers or a crib sized quilt. Or, you can make it your own by making a pillow or a larger quilt.

This fun, fast and great skill building quilt is a blast to make. By adding some HST blocks to some strip piecing and cutting you can knock out this quilt in no time. We will review color theory and pick different fabric options if needed.

In this class you will learn how to construct the Redwood Tote by Noodlehead. The Redwood Tote is a mid-sized crossbody tote in a North-South configuration which just means it is taller than it is wide. It has pieced front and back panels with a zippered front pocket and a slip pocket in the back. There is also a divided slip pocket on the inside back panel. I love the unique shape and I think you will too.

Explore four different methods of appliqu? while creating either a small wall quilt, quilt flag, or pillow cover. Piece O? Cake Designs creates fun whimsical patterns, and the class book is a wonderful resource for more advanced appliqu? methods. In this class we will make a raw-edge cork pouch with a reverse appliqu? design, and a wristlet strap. We?ll cover tips for getting a professional looking raw-edge on cork and how to install rivets.
